King Charles III has expressed concern over allegations about the conduct of former Prince Andrew, his brother, and confirmed that Buckingham Palace will fully support the police investigation.
On 9 Feb 2026 GMT+7, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson revealed that King Charles III of the British royal family has clearly shown unprecedented words and actions reflecting his deep concern about allegations related to the conduct of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, his brother.
“Although these allegations are matters for Mountbatten-Windsor to handle himself, if contacted by Thames Valley police, we are ready to support them as expected,” the spokesperson said.
This recent development follows confirmation from Thames Valley police that they are assessing whether there is sufficient reason to investigate a complaint from the anti-monarchy group Republic, which has filed accusations against former Prince Andrew for suspected misconduct in public duties and breaches of official secrets.
These allegations stem from emails in the Jeffrey Epstein case files released by the U.S. government, showing that during 2010–2011, Andrew, then a UK trade envoy, shared confidential information with Epstein.
The emails indicate that Andrew forwarded official reports about visits to Singapore, Hong Kong, and Vietnam, along with details about investment opportunities in Afghanistan, which were classified as “secret” information, to Epstein.
A statement from Buckingham Palace also said that the “thoughts and sympathies” of the King and Queen “remain with victims of abuse in all forms.”
