DP World CEO Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem Resigns Amid Jeffrey Epstein Email Controversy

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem resigned as CEO of DP World, a major global port and logistics company, following the release of hundreds of emails connecting him to Jeffrey Epstein over more than ten years.

On 13 February 2026, international news agencies reported that Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, chairman and CEO of DP World, a leading port and logistics operator based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, announced his immediate resignation amid growing pressure after new documents linked him to Jeffrey Epstein, the American financier convicted of sexual crimes.

The recently disclosed documents reveal that Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem appeared in hundreds of email exchanges with Epstein spanning over a decade. Some emails show Epstein introducing Sulayem to prominent international figures in politics and business. Sulayem also once hosted the Prince of Wales during a visit to DP World's London Gateway port in 2016.

Among the scrutinized documents is a 2009 email from Epstein mentioning a “torture video,” with the recipient responding that he would be traveling between China and the U.S. Although the exact context is unclear, U.S. officials have disclosed that the recipient was Sulayem. However, being named in the documents does not imply legal wrongdoing.

Following the resignation, images of Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem were removed from the company’s website. Meanwhile, DP World, which operates ports on six continents and plays a crucial role in global trade infrastructure, announced the appointment of Essa Kazim as chairman and Yuvraj Narayan as the new CEO.

Jeffrey Epstein died in a U.S. prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. His case profoundly shocked political, business, and elite social circles worldwide.
