YouTube Service Restored After Outage in Southeast Asia and the United States

The popular video platform YouTube has started restoring normal service following disruptions in several countries, including the United States and the Southeast Asia region, on the morning of Wednesday, 18 Feb 2024 GMT+7.

Data from the outage monitoring website Downdetector indicated that thousands of users in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines reported issues accessing videos or using the platform normally.

In Singapore, reports of problems began rising slightly before 09:00 GMT+7, peaking at nearly 3,000 cases at 09:27 GMT+7, before gradually declining. By 10:12 GMT+7, reports had fallen to around 200 cases, indicating the system was starting to recover.

Meanwhile, in the United States, over 320,000 users reported errors. Additionally, YouTube TV saw 8,923 problem reports, and other Google services had 2,694 reported issues.

As of now, Google has not issued an official statement regarding the cause of the outage. Reports of problems are gradually decreasing across many areas, suggesting the system is progressively returning to normal.
