Taylor Swift has secured the title of the world's best-selling artist for 2025 from the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), marking the sixth time she has achieved this distinction.
The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) awarded the 2025 Global Best-Selling Artist title to singer Taylor Swift, the sixth time she has received this honor, underscoring the global influence of the music superstar.
The award was announced on 18 February, with IFPI noting that this achievement stems from the overwhelming success of her latest album, The Life Of A Showgirl, which set a record for the highest first-week sales in the modern era, according to Billboard’s data sourced from music sales tracking companies.
Beyond album sales, Swift's global popularity spans all platforms, including streaming, digital downloads, and physical sales, boosted further by the buzz around her concert tour documentary The End Of An Era, which expanded her fanbase across multiple countries.
IFPI stated that Swift first won the "Global Recording Artist of the Year" title in 2014, then again in 2019, and consecutively from 2022 through 2024, as well as in 2025, totaling six wins—equaling the combined number of times all other artists have won this award over the past decade.
The organization highlighted that this success reflects both consistent creative vision and a long-term global marketing strategy supporting her work.
IFPI’s ranking is based on total worldwide sales over the calendar year, encompassing all an artist’s works through streaming, downloads, and physical sales, providing a comprehensive picture of international popularity.
For 2025, the popular K-pop group Stray Kids ranked second, while Canadian rapper Drake took third place.
