The Office of Commercial Affairs in New York collaborated with partners to hold the "Up to the Sky" fashion show at One World Trade Center during New York Fashion Week, promoting four Thai brands to break into the American market.
The Office of Commercial Affairs in New York (Thaitrade NY), under the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, has been continuously advancing the potential of Thai fashion and lifestyle products in the U.S. market for the fourth consecutive year through the Megatrend Project by organizing a full-scale fashion show themed "Up to the Sky" during New York Fashion Week.
The event took place on the 102nd floor of One World Trade Center, a landmark of New York City symbolizing power, strength, and the future, aligning with the "Up to the Sky" concept that reflects the growth of Thai fashion brands on the global stage.
Dr. Kasasuree Wijarnkorn, Director of the Office of Commercial Affairs in New York, revealed that this event builds on last year’s success, with fashion industry experts selecting Thai brands that are ready and have outstanding potential suitable for the New York market. From 19 applicants, four brands were chosen to showcase their work: Landmee, Sarran, Takara Wong Studios, and Vickteerut. These brands presented collections reflecting Thai identity, creativity, and design capabilities to an international audience.
A key highlight was the participation of well-known U.S. fashion influencer Elton Ilirjani, who has over 11.8 million Instagram followers. His involvement helped broaden awareness of Thai brands and attracted interest from buyers, importers, and distributors in the American market.
The event drew over 400 attendees, including journalists, influencers, buyers, and VIP guests from the fashion industry. It was honored by the presence of Ms. Somjai Thaephapong, Consul General in New York, and Ms. Chompoo Mritchoti, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s New York Office, who supported the activities.
This fashion show not only reflects a new international image of Thai fashion but also serves as a key mechanism to strengthen the competitiveness of Thai entrepreneurs in the global fashion market, increase trade opportunities, and enhance the value of Thai fashion and lifestyle brands in the U.S. market over the long term.
