U.S. electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla announced a price cut for the Cybertruck Cyberbeast model, the top-tier version in the U.S. market, reducing it from $114,990 to $99,990 to attract customers in the U.S.
This price reduction brings the Cyberbeast below $100,000 for the first time, approximately 3,118,340 baht, marking a significant strategic shift for Tesla amid intense competition in the U.S. electric vehicle (EV) market.
Reports indicate that Tesla is likely discontinuing the "Luxe Package" for the Cyberbeast, which previously included Supervised Full Self-Driving (FSD) features and free charging privileges through the Supercharger network.
This package was introduced in August last year alongside a Cybertruck price increase, but the company has now removed it, resulting in a significant net price decrease, while prices for other Cybertruck models remain unchanged.
Earlier that same month, Tesla launched a new all-wheel-drive Model Y priced at $41,990, positioned above the more affordable rear-wheel-drive "Standard" version.
Analysts view the addition of more sub-model options and more accessible pricing as key elements of Tesla's 2026 strategy to attract price-conscious consumers without waiting for new mass-market vehicle launches.
The Cyberbeast price cut reflects fierce competition in the EV market from both domestic and international manufacturers, while consumers have begun to slow spending on high-priced items.
This price reduction is seen as Tesla's effort to boost sales of the Cybertruck, one of the most closely watched electric vehicles in the global EV industry.
