Japanese People Celebrate Emperor Naruhitos 66th Birthday Anniversary

Japanese people celebrate the 66th birthday anniversary of Emperor Naruhito, which falls on 23 February every year.

In Tokyo, Japanese citizens gathered to celebrate Emperor Naruhito’s birthday, observed annually on 23 February. The Imperial Palace opened its doors for the public to offer their well-wishes and sign a book to express loyalty and celebrate the Reiwa era, symbolizing peace and prosperity.


Meanwhile, Emperor Naruhito, along with Empress Masako and other members of the imperial family, appeared on the balcony of the Imperial Palace to greet and receive congratulations from the public in accordance with tradition. Additionally, exhibitions and cultural activities were held to honor the emperor and showcase Japan’s rich cultural heritage on this auspicious occasion.


The current emperor’s birthday is one of the most important national holidays in Japan. The atmosphere across the country is filled with joy and Japanese flags are displayed widely. Japanese embassies and consulates worldwide, including in Thailand, also hold celebrations to mark the occasion, strengthening ties between Japan and other nations.
