On 24 February 2026, the Taiwan Meteorological Administration reported that at 12:37 GMT+7, a magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck Yilan in northeastern Taiwan. The epicenter was approximately 16.9 kilometers southeast of the Yilan county office at a depth of 66.8 kilometers.
However, no severe damage or injuries have been reported so far. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
