Bali Island Disrupted by Heavy Rain and Flash Floods, Urgent Evacuation of Tourists Underway

Bali Island, a popular tourist destination in Indonesia, is severely flooded after several days of continuous heavy rain. In some areas, water levels have risen over 1.5 meters, prompting urgent evacuation of both local residents and many tourists.

Officials revealed that the Dewi Sri area in the Kuta district of Bali has been heavily affected as water levels rose rapidly. Some residents became trapped inside their homes while the Bali search and rescue teams rushed to assist, using inflatable boats to evacuate those stranded in risky locations.

Reports state that at least 12 people have been evacuated, including women, children, and individuals trapped inside vehicles that could not be moved due to rising waters.

Beyond Kuta, other popular tourist areas in Bali have also suffered from flooding. Many hotels, guesthouses, and villas have been inundated, forcing numerous tourists to move to safer accommodations.

The heavy rain has also increased the risk of landslides and sudden flash floods in certain areas, raising concerns for Bali's tourism sector, which is currently in a recovery phase.

Local authorities have recently warned residents and tourists to closely monitor weather forecasts and avoid low-lying areas or regions near waterways while the heavy rain continues.
