Media close to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) report the launch of dozens of long-range missiles targeting Israel in retaliation following attacks by Israel and the United States.
Nour News, linked to the IRGC, stated that missile launches have already begun, while Mehr News Agency reported that these missiles are aimed across Palestine, the term Iran uses to refer to Israel.
Iran's official English-language news outlet, Press TV, reported that between 30 and 75 missiles have been launched from Iran at this time.
Meanwhile, the state-run IRNA news agency, citing sources close to the president, confirmed that President Masus Pesezgian is alive and in good health.
Majid Akhavan, spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Organization, told government-affiliated media that Iran has closed its entire airspace amid rising tensions. Additionally, there is an order to close all schools nationwide and switch to remote learning, according to Iranian media reports.
Earlier, Tasnim News Agency, a semi-official outlet linked to the IRGC, reported that Iran is preparing for retaliation and intends to respond forcefully to the Zionist regime.
Analysts assess that Tehran has multiple options for retaliation, including firing short-range missiles at U.S. bases in the region, attacking military and civilian targets in Israel, and potentially targeting U.S. warships.
Beyond missiles, Iran also possesses small naval vessels, drones, and submarines, which could threaten U.S. ships in regional waters and the surrounding Persian Gulf area.
