Tensions in the Middle East have intensified after Iran launched attacks on multiple U.S. military bases across the region in retaliation for previous joint strikes by the U.S. and Israel against targets in Iran.
Media close to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported multiple explosions in Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, and Qatar—all countries hosting U.S. bases. Missile strikes targeted at least four U.S. bases: Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates, and the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet base in Bahrain. Bahrain, a key U.S. ally in the Persian Gulf and home to the Fifth Fleet’s permanent headquarters in Manama, was a primary target in this assault.
A U.S. official revealed that the U.S. naval base in Bahrain, hosting the Fifth Fleet, was hit by Iranian missiles, and the situation remains unstable.
Meanwhile, Bahrain's Ministry of Interior issued an urgent announcement advising citizens to immediately move to the nearest safe locations.
Iran's Fars News Agency cited an IRGC statement declaring the attacks as direct retaliation for U.S. and Israeli military operations in various Iranian cities.
At the same time, Israel announced a new wave of strikes against Iranian government targets in the country's west. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated they are conducting extensive attacks on multiple military targets. This new offensive began about three and a half hours after the initial strikes by the U.S. and Israel.
