Iran claims that an Israeli attack hit an all-girls primary school, resulting in 57 deaths and many more injuries amid the ongoing regional conflict.
On 28 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Iran’s IRNA news agency reported, citing local officials, that Israel attacked an all-girls primary school named “Shajareh Tayyebeh” in Minab district, southern Hormozgan province.
Mohammad Radmehr, governor of Hormozgan province, stated that 57 people have died in the attack, including at least 24 students, and 48 others were injured. He emphasized that the death toll is still rising.
This latest report comes amid ongoing Middle East hostilities, after Israel launched attacks on Iran, while U.S. President Donald Trump announced the start of military operations in Iran as well. Tehran responded by striking Israeli targets and U.S. bases located in various countries in the region.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement saying the attack in Tehran targeted locations where high-ranking political and security officials were gathered. The IDF is currently assessing the outcomes of this attack.
