Trump and Senior Iranian Leaders Exchange Threats, Warning of Unprecedented Military Force

The situation intensifies after U.S. President Donald Trump issued a harsh warning to Iran, while senior Iranian leaders announced plans to retaliate against the U.S. and Israel.

Donald Trump, the U.S. leader, posted on the Truth Social platform on Sunday, warning Iran against further retaliation following Iran's announcement of heavy attacks planned for today. He emphasized in capital letters, "They should not do that, because if they do, we will strike with force unlike anything anyone has ever seen!"

This statement reflects the White House's hardline stance and may signal the possibility of escalating military action if Iran continues its counterattacks.

On Iran’s side, Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council and one of the country's most influential figures, promised retaliation against the U.S. following attacks that caused the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Larijani stated, "The Americans have stabbed the heart of the Iranian people, and we will repay them by stabbing them in the heart." He affirmed that Iran’s armed forces’ response would be even more severe, warning that they must understand that once they attack, they cannot escape unscathed.

Larijani, a senior policymaker and close advisor to Khamenei, said Iran will establish a temporary leadership structure consisting of the president and the head of the judiciary to govern the country during this critical transition period.

He also emphasized that Iran does not seek war with other countries in the region but will continue to target U.S. bases in the Middle East. He insisted that it must be made clear repeatedly that America cannot bully the Iranian people.

The open exchange of threats between Donald Trump and senior Iranian leaders highlights the risk that the conflict could escalate into a full-scale military confrontation, especially as both sides have declared they will not back down.

Analysts suggest that if there are further attacks on U.S. bases in the Middle East or if the U.S. decides to use unprecedented force as threatened by Trump, the region could face major instability affecting security, energy supplies, and the global economy.
