The US revealed that an Iranian warship attacked on Saturday is sinking to the bottom of the Gulf of Oman, while confirming that three American soldiers have died and several others were injured during the operation.
On 1 Mar 2026, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) disclosed that the Iranian Jamaran-class corvette, struck by US forces at the start of military operations against Iran on Saturday, is sinking in the Gulf of Oman at the port of Chabahar in southern Iran.
At the same time, the US military confirmed that three American soldiers were killed during Operation Epic Fury against Iran, with another five severely wounded.
Additionally, several other soldiers suffered minor injuries from shrapnel and concussions; they are currently undergoing recovery processes to return to duty. CENTCOM emphasized that the major combat operation continues and counter-efforts are still underway.
“The situation remains fluid, so to honor the families of our soldiers, we will withhold further information, including the identities of our fallen heroes, until 24 hours after their next of kin have been notified,” the statement added.
