Trump Declares Iran with Nuclear Weapons an Unacceptable Threat

Trump declared this is the last opportunity to attack Iran to prevent Tehran from obtaining nuclear weapons, which is unacceptable both for the Middle East and the American people.

On 2 Mar 2026 GMT+7, U.S. President Donald Trump delivered a speech at a White House Medal of Honor ceremony, briefly updating on the "Epic Fury" operation. He stated that the U.S. continues to conduct a "large-scale military operation" in Iran to eliminate the threat posed by the Iranian regime.

He said Iran has ignored U.S. warnings and "refused to cease its efforts to acquire nuclear weapons."

The U.S. president added that Iran's missile program serves as a shield for its nuclear weapons development. Although the U.S. wants this to end, "everyone supports us."

Trump accused the Iranian government armed with nuclear weapons and long-range missiles of being an "unacceptable threat" to the Middle East and the American people. He decided to launch war because it is the "best last opportunity to strike" and to eliminate "this unacceptable threat from a sick and evil regime."

The U.S. leader further stated that the operation's objectives in Iran are "clear," including "destroying Iran’s missile capabilities" and "devastating their navy," in addition to preventing them from obtaining nuclear weapons.

Trump emphasized that the country "cannot continue to arm, fund, and direct terrorist forces beyond its own borders."
