U.S. Warns Citizens to Leave 12 Middle Eastern Countries Immediately

The U.S. has announced a warning for American citizens to promptly leave 12 Middle Eastern countries as the war situation escalates, with Iran attacking several neighboring nations.

On 2 Mar 2026 GMT+7, the U.S. State Department urged American citizens to immediately evacuate 12 Middle Eastern countries amid regional tensions after the U.S. and Israel launched attacks on Iran, prompting Tehran to retaliate against multiple neighboring countries.

Ms. Mona Namdar, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs, stated that U.S. citizens have been warned to leave Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen immediately.

The Middle Eastern conflict is expanding after Iran retaliated against the U.S. and Israel by attacking several neighboring countries in the region that host U.S. military bases, notably in Kuwait—where multiple American soldiers were killed—Bahrain, and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
