The U.S. White House released an image of President Donald Trump seated in the war room, overseeing "Operation Epic Fury," the attack on Iran, with key individuals involved in the operation present in the room.
On 3 Mar 2026 GMT+7, the U.S. White House released an official photo via its X account showing President Donald Trump monitoring the situation of Operation Epic Fury from a secret war room, joined by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and White House Chief of Staff Suzie Wiles.
In the photo, Trump is wearing a white cap with the letters USA and the numbers 45-47, referring to him as the 45th and 47th president. Also present is General Dan Chen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, pointing at a large computer screen showing what appears to be military equipment in the Arabian Sea, south of Iran. Notably, General Chen is dressed casually, unlike his usual uniformed appearance when meeting the president.
U.S. media report that one image shows Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on the left side, who is scheduled to brief Congress alongside Rubio, the CIA Director, and the Joint Chiefs Chairman today. It was also noted that Wiles wore a device resembling a smartwatch in this high-security area, which could pose security risks; however, the White House clarified it was a health monitoring device without microphone or GPS.
U.S. and Israeli forces stated they have struck more than 1,000 targets in Iran, focusing on command and control systems, air defense, missile launch bases, and the headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Iran responded by launching missiles and drones targeting Israel, U.S. bases, and civilian sites in the Persian Gulf region. Meanwhile, on 2 Mar 2026 GMT+7, the U.S. Defense Department confirmed the operation will not become an "endless war," despite no definite timeline being set.
