Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, laughed during an interview with US media when asked if Israel "dragged" the United States into military conflict, calling it nonsense and stating that Donald Trump made all the decisions himself.
In an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Benjamin Netanyahu was directly asked whether Israel was responsible for pulling Donald Trump into war.
Netanyahu responded with laughter, saying, "That’s complete nonsense. Donald Trump is the strongest leader in the world. He has to do what he believes is right for America."
The Israeli leader also said that he is well aware of the costs of war, but sometimes it is necessary to protect the country from serious threats.
Earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio revealed that the United States decided to attack Iran last Saturday as a preemptive measure.
Rubio stated that the US had prior knowledge that Israel was about to launch an operation, and if the US did not act first, greater losses might have occurred.
Netanyahu’s interview comes amid political criticism in the US suggesting Israel may have pushed Washington to become involved in the latest conflict with Iran. However, in this recent interview, the Israeli leader clearly affirmed that the US government’s decision was a sovereign choice made independently, without pressure from Israel.
