Trump kept boasting in a post on the Truth Social platform, stating that the U.S. has a sufficient weapons arsenal for an eternal war and reiterated that America is ready to win big.
Trump posted just before midnight local time in Washington, D.C., stating that the U.S. has a vast, virtually unlimited stockpile of medium to high-level military equipment and that the war can continue "forever," expressing confidence that America is ready for a major victory.
This statement comes amid the ongoing prolonged conflict in the Middle East and criticism about the U.S. arms stockpile following reports that some types of advanced weaponry have diminished.
In the same post, Trump also referenced former President Joe Biden, accusing him of supplying the highest-level weapons in large quantities to Ukraine.
Late in Biden's four-year term, the U.S. government authorized Ukraine to use ATACMS long-range missiles, capable of striking military targets up to 190 miles (about 300 kilometers) away.
At the time, this decision was seen as a significant escalation of support for Ukraine amid its war with Russia.
Trump's declaration reflects a hardline stance and signals U.S. military readiness at a time when many are watching closely for the sufficiency of the arms stockpile, especially advanced, cutting-edge technology weapons.
Although Trump asserted that the U.S. has enough weapons for a long-term war, his mention of an eternal war raises new questions about the future direction of Washington's security policy.
