Trump boasts relentlessly, posting on the Truth Social platform that the United States has a sufficient arsenal for an eternal war, reiterating that America is ready for a major victory.
Trump posted the message just before midnight local time in Washington, D.C., stating that the US possesses an immense and virtually unlimited stockpile of medium to high-level weapons, and that the war can continue "eternally," expressing confidence that the United States is prepared to achieve a major victory.
This statement comes amid the protracted conflict in the Middle East and growing criticism over the US weapons stockpile after earlier reports indicated that supplies of some advanced weapon types had decreased.
In the same post, Trump also referenced former President Joe Biden, accusing him of supplying large quantities of the highest-level weapons to Ukraine.
Late in Biden's four-year term, the US government authorized Ukraine's use of ATACMS long-range missiles, capable of striking military targets up to 190 miles, or about 300 kilometers, away.
At the time, this decision was viewed as a significant escalation of US support for Ukraine amid the war with Russia.
Trump's declaration reflects a hardline stance and signals US military readiness at a time when many are watching closely the adequacy of the weapons stockpile, especially advanced weapons featuring cutting-edge technology.
Although Trump asserts that the US has enough weapons for a prolonged war, the notion of an eternal war raises new questions about the future direction of Washington's security policy.
