The Chinese Embassy in Iran announced that most citizens have been evacuated amid deteriorating security conditions, while China condemned the attacks on Iran by Israel and the United States and called for an immediate ceasefire.
On 3 March 2026, the Chinese Embassy in Tehran, Iran, revealed that most Chinese citizens have been evacuated following multiple explosions near the embassy and the Chinese community association in the area. The final group organized by the association is scheduled to depart on 3 March, with further evacuations planned if necessary.
Meanwhile, Mao Ning, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that more than 3,000 Chinese citizens have been evacuated from Iran. He made these remarks in response to media questions about the severe security situation in Iran and the Chinese government's measures.
At the same time, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a telephone conversation with Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi, stating that China opposes the military attacks by Israel and the United States on Iran and calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities.
A statement from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs quoted Wang Yi as saying that military force cannot truly solve problems; rather, it often creates new issues and leaves serious long-term consequences. The true value of military power lies not on the battlefield but in preventing war.
