American Netizens and Former South Park Writer Urge U.S. President to Send His Son to Fight in the Middle East

American netizens, along with a former writer of the animated series South Park, have joined a movement urging U.S. President Donald Trump to send his son, Barron Trump, to fight on the front lines in the Middle East following the death of American soldiers in the conflict with Iran.

The escalating conflict in the Middle East has escalated into a state of war between the United States, Israel, and Iran under the U.S. "Operation Epic Fury," resulting in the first American military fatalities on the battlefield. This has raised questions about the fairness of sending middle-class children to sacrifice their lives in a war initiated by leaders, sparking calls for President Donald Trump to send his youngest son, Barron Trump, to join the military and fight in the Middle East.

This wave of dissatisfaction arose after the names of four U.S. soldiers killed in an Iranian attack while stationed in Kuwait were revealed. U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth addressed the American public, confirming that these soldiers died due to an attack by Iranian forces.

President Donald Trump commented on the incident, stating that further losses might occur. This sparked heavy criticism on social media, where the hashtag #SendBarron—calling on President Trump to show responsibility by sending his 19-year-old son Barron Trump to the front lines of the conflict—became the top trending topic on the X platform.

Meanwhile, Senator Chris Murphy, a Democratic member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, reinforced this call on the CBS television program "Face the Nation," stating that this war is likely to become a quagmire that will claim the lives of many American soldiers. Murphy said those who will die in this war are not the children of wealthy families like Donald Trump’s but rather the middle-class and poor families across the country, who become pawns in the political games of leaders.

Former writer of the politically satirical animated series South Park, Toby Morton, also launched a website.DraftBarronTrump.comto support the movement urging Donald Trump’s youngest son to be drafted into military service as well.

The issue of Barron Trump's health has drawn attention, as speculation arose that he might avoid military conscription due to medical restrictions, given his height of 6 feet 9 inches (approximately 206 centimeters), which exceeds the U.S. military’s height limits. The Army, Navy, and Air Force set a maximum height of 6 feet 8 inches, while the Marine Corps limits height to 6 feet 6 inches, due to confined spaces inside tactical vehicles such as tanks, cockpits, and submarines.

If Barron Trump is indeed exempted from conscription, he would not be the first in the Trump family to avoid military service. Donald Trump himself was previously diagnosed with "heel spur," which exempted him from service during the Vietnam War era.

It was reported that Dr. Larry Bronstein, a foot specialist in Queens who passed away in 2007, issued the medical certificate as a favor to Fred Trump, Donald Trump’s father and owner of the building where Dr. Bronstein rented office space.

Dr. Bronstein’s daughter told The New York Times that the story was a well-known family anecdote, explaining that her father helped the Trump family to gain access to influential figures like Fred Trump. Before being exempted for medical reasons, Donald Trump had requested deferments four times to continue his education.

Trump has insisted that he never underwent surgery for the heel spur but managed it with physical therapy and shoe inserts instead.
