Israel Launches 11th Wave of Attacks on Irans Capital as Iran Postpones Memorial for Former Supreme Leader

Israel launched its 11th wave of attacks on Tehran since the conflict began last weekend, while Iran announced the indefinite postponement of the memorial ceremony for its late Supreme Leader.

On the night of 4 Mar 2026 GMT+7, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement saying they had commenced a new wave of airstrikes across Tehran, the capital of Iran, targeting military infrastructure.

However, the military has not yet provided further details on the exact locations but stated that more information will be shared later, amid reports from local journalists of multiple loud explosions in the capital.

This latest Israeli attack marks the 11th wave since the United States and Israel launched strikes on Tehran on 28 Feb 2026 GMT+7.

The current airstrikes follow another wave on Wednesday morning, during which the IDF claimed to have destroyed “dozens of military assets related to the Iranian government's ballistic missile systems” in western and central Iran.

They also stated that some missile launch sites were “attacked while Iranian personnel were preparing to operate them” to strike Israel.

“We are striking this regime with immense military power, and we do not intend to pause even for a minute. We are targeting the most critical and vulnerable sites, and we have continuously destabilized them,” said Effie Defrin, IDF spokesperson, during a press briefing on Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, the Iranian government announced the postponement of the memorial for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the late Supreme Leader, originally scheduled for a three-day event starting Wednesday. The ceremony is delayed indefinitely until a new date is announced, citing ongoing preparations.
