Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister warned European nations that if they support the US and Israel's military operations, they may also become legitimate targets. He reiterated that attacks on US bases and assets in the Middle East are justified.
Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, said on Friday (6 Mar) that European countries participating in attacks on Iran alongside the US and Israel would immediately become legitimate targets for Iran.
This warning comes amid escalating tensions after the US and Israel launched attacks on targets in Iran, prompting military retaliation from Iran in the region.
Asked about some European countries providing logistical support to the US military operations, Takht-Ravanchi said Iran has already warned European countries that "they should be cautious about getting involved in this invasive war against Iran." However, he did not specify which European countries.
The Deputy Foreign Minister also addressed the situation in the Persian Gulf region, emphasizing that Iran had warned neighboring countries in advance before the conflict erupted last week. He stated that if the US takes hostile actions against Iran, US bases and assets anywhere in our region will be considered legitimate targets.
Takht-Ravanchi also criticized the US for ending diplomatic efforts, saying Iran was negotiating sincerely in the weeks before the US and Israel launched their attacks. He affirmed that Iran engaged in talks in good faith, but the military strikes disrupted the diplomatic process.
