Iran Faces Acid Rain Threat Following Israeli Oil Depot Attack

Iran is once again threatened by acid rain endangering its citizens, following an Israeli attack on an oil depot that triggered fires and toxic black smoke blanketing Tehran.

The attack on the oil depot not only caused an oil shortage in Iran but also exposed its people to severe air pollution, as the fire rapidly spread and dark toxic smoke enveloped the skies over Tehran.

Iranian authorities issued warnings urging residents to be cautious and remain indoors because the black smoke contains sulfur and nitrogen oxides, which, if combined with rainfall, can form acid rain harmful to the skin and potentially dangerous to the lungs and respiratory system.

The Iranian Red Crescent Council warned of the likelihood of acid rain in downtown Tehran, describing it as highly toxic. They also reported a lack of wind in the city, allowing the black smoke to persistently cover the area.

Tehran residents reported seeing black smoke from their windows, while many gas stations in the city have closed due to oil shortages, severely impacting daily life for the population.

Residents of Tehran concluded that although the United States and Israel claim their attacks target only military sites and Iranian leadership, these locations are situated amid residential areas, meaning the consequences inevitably affect ordinary citizens like themselves.
