President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed that his government is sending teams of experts specialized in countering Iranian drones to three countries in the Middle East to help prevent attacks from Iran.
On 10 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky disclosed that Ukraine is dispatching experts to the Middle East to share knowledge and experience in defending against attacks from Iranian drones amid ongoing conflicts in the region.
Zelensky stated that this week, three teams of experts will travel to Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), emphasizing that these are only the first countries Ukraine intends to assist with deploying specialists.
Ukraine has extensive experience intercepting Shahed drones, which are produced by Iran, as Russia frequently uses these drones to attack Ukraine.
In recent days, multiple countries have requested Ukraine's help to protect themselves from kamikaze drone attacks amid Iran’s retaliatory strikes against U.S. allies in the region.
"All American experts understand well that Ukraine’s experience can help repel numerous attacks by Shahed drones," Zelensky said.
"Even countries that have secretly purchased or acquired drone interception systems are beginning to realize that without our armed forces, our control personnel, and our software working together, those interception tools cannot operate effectively."
