White House Confirms Trump Has Not Ruled Out Any Options, Including Deploying Infantry to Iran

The U.S. White House confirmed that Donald Trump has not ruled out any options for war with Iran, including sending infantry troops, with the president himself to decide whether to carry it out.

On 10 Mar 2026 GMT+7, White House spokesperson Caroline Leavitt addressed U.S. military operations toward Iran, stating that President Donald Trump “has not ruled out any options” in waging war against Iran, including the possibility of deploying U.S. military forces into the area.

“Regarding sending infantry troops, the president has consistently spoken on this matter. As commander-in-chief, he pursues a prudent vision by not excluding any options. Therefore, I do not want to confirm any information that Democratic members of Congress are currently speculating about the president’s thoughts.”

Leavitt appeared to be referring to comments from Democratic senators, including Richard Blumenthal, who said during a congressional interview this morning, “It seems we are on a path toward deploying American troops into Iran to achieve certain objectives.”

Leavitt also emphasized that Donald Trump wants Iran to “surrender unconditionally” as a condition for any agreement with Iran.

“When President Trump says Iran must surrender unconditionally, he does not mean the Iranian regime will publicly declare that themselves. What the president means is that Iran’s threats will no longer be backed by missile arsenals that shield their efforts to build nuclear bombs inside the country.”

She added, “President Trump will decide when Iran is in a state of unconditional surrender—that is when they can no longer pose a credible and direct threat to the United States and our allies.”
