Americans are alarmed by an FBI alert indicating that Iran might attempt to use drones to attack the U.S. state of California from the sea in a surprise attack.
The report states that the FBI sent this alert last week to law enforcement agencies in the Los Angeles area to warn of the potential for drone attacks coming from offshore California.
However, U.S. and California security intelligence officials say there is currently no specific threat information, and the warning is based on intelligence gathered before the recent conflict with Iran.
California Governor Gavin Newsom posted on platform X that there are currently no signs of an imminent threat, but authorities remain prepared to handle any emergency that could arise within the state.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters at Joint Base Andrews that the report is under review, noting that several events are unfolding and the government is closely monitoring the situation.
