Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's Prime Minister, made his first statement since the Iran war began, saying the attacks caused significant damage to Iran's nuclear program and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
On 13 March 2026, Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's Prime Minister, held his first press conference since the war with Iran began, affirming that Israel is "stronger than ever" after nearly two weeks of continuous joint attacks with the United States. At the same time, the conflict with Iran has opened opportunities for Israel to forge new alliances in the Middle East that were previously unattainable.
Netanyahu said the attacks, which started on 28 February, inflicted heavy damage on Iran's nuclear program, including the elimination of several senior nuclear scientists. He also stated that the strikes severely damaged the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and volunteer forces, making Iran fundamentally changed. He claimed Israel's attacks prevented Iran from relocating its nuclear and missile programs underground.
The Israeli leader also criticized Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran's new supreme leader, calling him a "puppet of the Revolutionary Guard Corps" and noted that the new leader has yet to appear publicly after his recent statement was broadcast on state television.
