The U.S. leader told the media that the war with Iran will end when he "feels the time is right," warning that attacks will intensify next week while assessing that Iran's new Supreme Leader may still be alive.
On 13 March 2026, U.S. President Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox News that the war between the U.S. and Iran will end "when I feel the time is right."
When asked how he would know the war had ended, Trump replied, "When I feel it, okay?" adding, "I feel it from inside." He also stated that the damage to Iran is currently so severe it will take years to recover, but next week the U.S. will increase heavy attacks on Iran.
The U.S. leader also spoke about Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran's new Supreme Leader who has not appeared publicly, suggesting he may be injured but still alive.
Meanwhile, when asked about the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global oil shipping route, Trump said the U.S. military is ready to escort oil tankers through the strait if necessary. However, he expressed hope that the situation will improve.
