Donald Trump posted a message confirming that five U.S. refueling planes were attacked while parked at an airport in Saudi Arabia, sustaining only minor damage and were not shot down as domestic media reported.
On 14 Mar 2026 GMT+7, U.S. President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social revealing that five U.S. refueling planes were attacked while parked at an airport in Saudi Arabia, but suffered only minor damage or were "almost undamaged."
Trump claimed that four out of the five refueling planes have returned to normal operations, while the fifth plane sustained more damage but will be back in service soon.
"Another deliberately misleading headline by fake news media has emerged regarding the five refueling planes allegedly shot down at an airport in Saudi Arabia and rendered unusable," Trump stated via Truth Social.
"In reality, the base was attacked a few days ago, but none of the planes were 'shot down' or 'destroyed.' Four of the five planes were barely damaged and have resumed normal operations. One plane suffered slightly more damage but will be flying again shortly. None were destroyed or even close to it, contrary to the sensational headlines by fake news media."
"Media outlets like The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, along with other ‘newspapers’ and low-tier media, actually want us to lose the war. Their terrible reporting is completely opposite to the facts! They are truly sick and deranged people who do not realize how much damage they are causing to the United States."
"Fortunately, our great and decisive victory in the 2024 election has proven that the people of this country understand what is happening far better than the fake news media!"
