Netanyahu Shares Clip to Quash Death Rumors, Shows Hands to Confirm He Has No Sixth Finger

Benjamin Netanyahu posted a new video clip showing himself speaking to dispel online rumors that he might have died, after a previous clip showed him appearing to have six fingers, leading people to believe it was an AI-generated video.

On 15 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, shared a video on his personal Instagram to refute online rumors and Iranian claims that he had been injured, killed, or was in poor health amid the Middle East conflict.

The video shows Netanyahu in a relaxed setting at a café near Jerusalem, where the Israeli leader is ordering coffee and humorously responding to death rumors about himself.

"I’m desperate for coffee. I’m willing to die for my people. How are they? Fantastic. Do you want to count the fingers on my hand?" Netanyahu said, raising his hand and counting each finger. He mocked one of the viral online rumors claiming that an official video previously released was AI-generated because it showed him with six fingers.

These rumors and speculation about Netanyahu’s condition were intensified by Iranian government news agencies.

The IRNA news agency posted on platform X that the Revolutionary Guards declared they would kill Netanyahu "if he is still alive," while Tasnim news agency claimed Netanyahu was under pressure to dispel the rumors about his death or injury.
