Qatar condemned Iran for firing missiles at the Ras Laffan Industrial City, describing it as a threat to the region and affirming Qatar's right to respond to protect the country's sovereignty.
On 18 Mar 2026, Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Iran for brazenly launching missiles at the Ras Laffan Industrial City, stating this is a direct threat to national security and the stability of the Middle East region.
"Iran continues to pursue policies that escalate violence, pushing the region toward chaos and drawing countries not involved in the conflict into the vortex of hostility," the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on social media.
The statement added that Qatar "reserves the right to respond" and "will not hesitate to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty, security, and the safety of its citizens."

Later, Qatar's Ministry of Interior reported that authorities had brought the fire under control with no injuries reported.
Meanwhile, Qatar's Ministry of Defense revealed that on Wednesday (18 Mar), five missiles were launched from Iran toward Qatar; four were intercepted, while one struck the Ras Laffan Industrial City, triggering the fire.
