Iranian missiles struck areas in the West Bank and central Israel, killing three Palestinians and one foreign worker. Thailand confirmed that the deceased was a Thai worker.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported a tragic incident on the night of Wednesday, 18 Mar 2024 GMT+7, when debris from an Iranian missile hit a beauty salon in Beit Awa, near Hebron in the West Bank. This caused the immediate death of three Palestinian women, including a 17-year-old girl named Mays Ghazi Masalmeh.
This incident is the first time Palestinians have died due to Iranian attacks in this war. At least eight others were injured. The site, a hair salon inside a container, was riddled with shrapnel holes and stained with blood.
Around the same time, Israeli emergency services Magen David Adom confirmed finding one male fatality in the Adanim agricultural settlement in central Israel, about 20 kilometers northeast of Tel Aviv.
The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs has now received confirmation from Israeli authorities that the deceased was a 30-year-old Thai agricultural worker, who died from severe wounds caused by metal shrapnel scattered throughout the area. This raises the total Israeli fatalities from Iranian attacks to 15.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced it launched drones and missiles targeting multiple locations across Israel. Israeli media reported the latest assault involved "cluster bombs," weapons that explode midair and disperse multiple submunitions over a wide area, making interception difficult and causing severe civilian harm.
Following the incident, Palestinian Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh received a call from the United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister expressing condolences and condemning the Iranian attack that killed Palestinians. The UAE itself has been affected by several Iranian strikes since the war began on 28 February 2024 GMT+7.
