Netanyahu denies rumors that Israel is dragging the U.S. into a war with Iran and insists that both countries are protecting the entire world from Iran's nuclear weapons.
On 19 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at a press conference that Israel and the United States are "protecting the whole world" through military operations against Iran, firmly denying that Israel has dragged the U.S. into this war.
Netanyahu stated that Israel's attacks have significantly destroyed Iran's military capabilities, claiming that the Tehran government can no longer enrich uranium or produce missiles. However, he did not provide any evidence to support these claims.
“We are winning, and Iran is being utterly destroyed,” he said.
Netanyahu added that the operation aims to eliminate Iran's nuclear and missile threats “before they are deeply buried underground and escape aerial attacks” and to “create conditions for the Iranian people to determine their own destiny.”
He also emphasized close coordination with President Donald Trump, saying the two “are in full agreement,” while dismissing allegations that Israel dragged the U.S. into the conflict as “fake news.”
“Does anyone really think—or could anyone order President Trump what to do? Come on,” Netanyahu said.
“I don’t think there has ever been any two leaders who coordinate this well,” he added, noting that he regularly speaks with President Trump, “but ultimately, he makes his own decisions, and I respect those decisions.”
