Trump Signals Reduced Military Role in Middle East, Claims US Victory and Near Achievement of Goals

Donald Trump stated that the US is considering reducing its military role in the Middle East, believing it is close to achieving its goals in managing Iran. He suggested other countries that use the Strait of Hormuz take on security responsibilities instead.

Donald Trump, US president, revealed on the platform Truth Social on Friday (local time) that America is considering scaling back military operations in the Middle East after believing it has nearly achieved key objectives in handling Iran.

Trump said this progress comes after the US was able to degrade Iran's missile capabilities and partially destroy the potential of Iran's air force and navy.

The US leader also emphasized the importance of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global energy transit route, suggesting that countries dependent on this route should take a role in maintaining security instead of the US.

However, he stressed that the US remains ready to provide support if allied countries request assistance, but believes that if the threat from Iran disappears, the mission will not be difficult for those countries.

Trump claimed that "the US has already won" but continues to reinforce forces.

Although Trump told reporters at the White House that the US has won the war against Iran, the situation on the ground remains tense.

Reports from US officials indicate that thousands of US Marines and Navy personnel are heading to the Middle East as the conflict with Iran approaches its fourth week.

Trump's stance reflects a trend of reducing US burdens in the Middle East by encouraging allies to take on greater roles, especially in strategic areas like the Strait of Hormuz.

However, the simultaneous military buildup may indicate that the US is not yet ready for a full withdrawal and still seeks to maintain strategic leverage in this globally important energy region.
