Iran is escalating threats to attack parks and tourist sites worldwide in retaliation against the US and Israel, while drones strike Kuwait's oil refinery.
On 21 March 2026 GMT+7, Abolfazl Shekarchi, a senior Iranian military spokesperson, stated that Iran will broaden its attack targets to include tourist sites and recreational areas worldwide in response to the US and Israel, warning that parks, leisure areas, and tourist destinations globally will not be safe for Iran’s enemies.
This latest stance from Iran follows its heightened attacks on energy targets in Gulf countries after Israel struck Iran’s South Pars natural gas field.
Most recently, reports confirmed that Iranian drones attacked Kuwait’s Mina Al-Ahmadi oil refinery twice on Friday morning, causing fires at the facility. This refinery is one of the largest in the Middle East, with a production capacity of about 730,000 barrels per day.
