Israel Indicates Iran-Hezbollah Conflict to Continue for Several More Weeks, Admits Interception System Is Not 100% Effective

An Israeli military spokesman revealed that the campaign to eliminate Iran and Hezbollah will continue for several more weeks, admitting missile interceptions reach about 90% because the system does not provide complete coverage.

On 23 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Brigadier General Effi Deferin, spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), stated that the conflict with Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon is likely to drag on for several more weeks. He emphasized that daily, the military is actively undermining terrorist regimes and proxy networks, refusing to allow them to pose a threat to the State of Israel amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

The IDF spokesman discussed the air defense system’s effectiveness, saying the air force can intercept approximately 90% of attacks but acknowledged the system cannot close all gaps. The failures to intercept in the Dimona and Arad areas were unrelated incidents. He explained that air defense under current conditions is a complex battle, continuously countering attacks from opposing forces.

However, this statement reflects that the fighting between Israel, Iran, and Hezbollah shows no sign of ending soon and may extend for several more weeks, as both sides continue intense military operations.
