An Israeli woman has become the first civilian killed by Hezbollah's attacks from Lebanon since the latest wave of violence began in early March.
Israel's emergency rescue unit revealed on 24 Mar 2026 GMT+7 that a 30-year-old woman in northern Israel died from a rocket attack launched by Hezbollah from Lebanon. She is the first Israeli civilian fatality from this armed group's attacks since the fighting intensified on 2 Mar.
In addition to the deceased woman, two other civilians suffered minor injuries from shrapnel in the same incident, which took place in the Upper Galilee area, according to the rescue unit's report.
The latest clashes between Israel and Hezbollah erupted just two days after Israel and the U.S. began military operations against Iran, prompting Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran, to launch heavy rocket fire into Israel.
Israeli military officials stated that Hezbollah has been firing an average of 90 to 110 attacks daily, with 60-70% targeting the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) operating in Lebanon, while the remainder were directed at civilian communities in northern Israel.
Lebanon's Ministry of Health reported that the death toll from Israeli attacks since 2 Mar has risen to 1,072, an increase of 33 fatalities in the 24 hours leading up to Tuesday, with 2,966 people wounded.
