A tragic incident occurred in Miami, USA, where two Thai students were victims of a hit-and-run. The police later arrested the suspect, who claimed that during the incident he closed his eyes and accelerated, intending to end his own life.

On 24 March 2026, the news websiteThe Herald Timesreported that a tragic incident occurred involving Adan Negron-Morris, a 42-year-old American, who drove without headlights and struck two Thai pedestrians, killing them before fleeing the scene. The victims were Greatgomon Laowatdhanasapya, a 23-year-old Thai man, and Sarisa Kongduang, a 22-year-old Thai female student.

Police revealed that both victims were Thai nationals—one a student at Indiana University and the other a 2024 graduate. They were traveling during spring break and died at the scene after being hit by a speeding vehicle while crossing the street at 21:10 on 17 March.


According to reports citing the Miami Herald, the suspect is a 42-year-old man driving a Nissan Sentra at high speed without headlights. Prior to the incident, several citizens called 911 reporting the speeding vehicle. After the collision, the suspect fled and abandoned his car near the Walgreens area, not far from the scene. Police later arrested him nearby, charging him with two counts of negligent driving causing death and two counts of hit-and-run resulting in death.

Information from the Thai Student Association states that Sarisa Kongduang, one of the victims, formerly served as president of the Thai Student Association at the University of Miami and treasurer of the Thai Student Association in the United States. The other victim graduated from Kelley College in 2024 and worked at Bank of America.
