Local media revealed that Iranian authorities have rejected the United States' proposal to find a way to end the war in the Middle East, while presenting their own five conditions, stressing that the war will end only when all these conditions are fulfilled.
On 25 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Press TV, the Iranian government television station, reported citing an anonymous senior security and political official who said Iran has rejected the US proposal aimed at ending the ongoing Middle East war.
Press TV did not name, specify the position, or rank of the official, but reported that the official stated, “Iran will end the war only when it decides to do so itself and when Iran’s conditions have been met.”
The Iranian official has consistently emphasized that they want the “war to end completely,” not merely a declaration of a temporary ceasefire.
According to Press TV, the official summarized five key conditions as follows:
1. A complete end to “aggression and assassinations” by the enemy.
2. Establishment of clear mechanisms to guarantee that no war will be waged again against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
3. Clear guarantees and specification of the amount of compensation for war damages and war reparations.
4. The war must end on all fronts, including fighting against all related opposition groups throughout the region.
5. International recognition and guarantees of Iran’s sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.
Press TV added that despite Washington’s efforts to push negotiations through various diplomatic channels, Tehran views these proposals as “excessive demands.”
Previously, reports indicated the US submitted 15 demands for Iran to follow to end the war, but one source commented that many points are “virtually impossible” for Iran to accept, while another source said these demands appear similar to those the US proposed to Iran during talks last year.
