Donald Trump stated that Iran wants to negotiate an agreement but fears both domestic factions and the United States. Meanwhile, the White House confirms that talks have not collapsed, even though Iran has not accepted the 15-point plan.
Donald Trump, the U.S. president, revealed that Iran is eager to reach an agreement but is afraid to show it because they fear being assassinated by their own side or by the U.S.
Trump said during a Republican fundraising event in Washington that Iran is in an unprecedented situation due to pressure in the Middle East, and although there have been contacts for negotiations, Iran is reluctant to openly express these desires.
Earlier, the White House stated that negotiations with Iran have not reached a dead end, despite Iran not yet accepting the 15-point plan to immediately end the war. The U.S. is organizing a meeting in Pakistan to discuss ways to reduce tensions.
However, Abbas Araghchi, Iran's foreign minister, acknowledged that messages have been exchanged between the two countries through intermediaries but emphasized that these contacts are not yet considered official negotiations.
