Tiger Woods Charged with DUI After Car Crash in Florida Refuses Urine Test

Tiger Woods, the legendary golf pro, has been charged with driving under the influence after a rollover accident in Florida. Although his breathalyzer test was zero, he refused further testing.

On 27 March 2026, American golf star Tiger Woods was charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI) following a car rollover accident in Florida, USA. The Martin County Sheriff's Office revealed that besides the DUI charge, Woods was also charged with property damage and refused legally required testing.

Reports state the incident happened on Beach Road in Jupiter Island on Friday afternoon. Woods was driving a Land Rover, attempting to overtake a high-pressure water truck at speed before sideswiping it and causing his vehicle to roll over. Afterward, he had to crawl out of the passenger side door but, fortunately, no one was injured.

Officials said Tiger Woods passed a breathalyzer test with a zero result but refused a urine test, making it impossible to confirm if he was under the influence of any substance at the time. Authorities observed signs of impaired driving during field tests despite no evidence of alcohol consumption.

They added that Woods cooperated with officers but chose not to provide information that could affect the case and had the legal right to refuse further tests, despite additional charges resulting from that refusal. After being detained, Woods was taken to Martin County Jail and later released following standard procedures. All charges are classified as misdemeanors.
