Bahrain Imposes Nighttime Maritime Curfew Amid Fears of Iranian Attacks

Bahraini authorities have declared a curfew banning maritime travel at night indefinitely to ensure safety after Iran's continued attacks.

On 29 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Bahrain announced a curfew order prohibiting nighttime maritime travel, stating it will remain in effect until further notice, to protect the country's Arabian Gulf coastline amid ongoing Iranian attacks.

Bahrain's Interior Minister announced today that the ban covers users of fishing boats and recreational vessels, to be enforced daily from 18:00 to 04:00 local time.

The Interior Ministry stated this new measure was implemented due to "clear Iranian aggression" and the "serious risks" posed to the safety of citizens and residents.

Additionally, the Bahraini government urged "all waterway travelers to comply with the maritime curfew hours and avoid approaching the coastline, for their own safety and to avoid legal liabilities."
