King Charles III will visit the United States from 27 to 30 April. Donald Trump posted a warm welcome message shortly after recently criticizing the United Kingdom for not helping fight Iran.
On 31 March 2026, U.S. President Donald Trump praised the upcoming visit of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, shortly after he criticized the United Kingdom for not participating in the war against Iran and efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
"This important occasion will be even more special this year as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our great country. I look forward to spending time with the King, whom I hold in high regard. It will surely be a wonderful event!" Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Trump also stated that this “historic official visit” will take place from 27 to 30 April and will include a “magnificent dinner” at the White House on 28 April.
Buckingham Palace announced this visit on Tuesday morning.
Earlier the same morning, Trump posted a message attacking European nations, especially the UK, for refusing to “participate in eliminating Iran” and said the UK should muster “belated courage” to help move fuel through the Strait of Hormuz.
"You need to start learning to fight for yourselves. The U.S. will no longer be there to help you, just as you were not there for us then," Trump said in the message.
