Donald Trump claimed that the Iranian president requested a ceasefire from the U.S., but he will consider it only after the Strait of Hormuz is reopened. Meanwhile, the U.S. will strike Iran to obliteration.
On 1 Apr 2026 GMT+7, U.S. President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that Iran had requested a ceasefire from the United States, and he would consider that request only after Iran reopens the Strait of Hormuz.
“The new president of Iran’s regime, who is much less extreme and much smarter than his predecessors, has just requested a ceasefire with the United States! We will consider it only when the Strait of Hormuz is open, free, and cleared. Until then, we will strike Iran to total destruction—or as they say, send them back to the Stone Age!!! — President DJT”
However, there is currently no confirmation of the ceasefire request from Iran, and it remains unclear whether the Iranian president has the authority to decide on behalf of the entire regime.
Previously, Trump said reopening the Strait of Hormuz was not a problem for the U.S. and hinted that the route would open immediately once the war ends.
