The Russia-Ukraine war situation has intensified, with both sides launching heavy air attacks in retaliation, resulting in at least 10 deaths and dozens of injuries. Meanwhile, President Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived in Turkey to discuss strengthening security in Europe and the Middle East.
The Russian military deployed more than 286 drones to heavily attack multiple areas of Ukraine. Although the Ukrainian Air Force intercepted 260 drones, the explosions caused significant casualties, especially in the city of Nikopol, where five people died and 19 were injured. The cities of Sumy and Kyiv suffered heavy damage to residential areas and office buildings. In the Donetsk region, Russian drones attacked civilian vehicles on the road, killing a woman instantly.
Ukraine's security forces revealed they used drones to strike a metal plant in Alchevsk, located in Russian-occupied Luhansk region. The target was key infrastructure—specifically furnaces and electrical systems—to disrupt supplies to Uralvagonzavod, Russia's main tank manufacturer.
On the other hand, Russia claims Ukraine attacked railways and homes in Luhansk, resulting in three deaths in one family, including an eight-year-old girl. Additionally, in Russia's Rostov region, one person died and a foreign cargo ship caught fire due to Ukrainian attacks.
Amid the fierce fighting, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Istanbul, Turkey, to meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the spiritual leader of the Orthodox Christian community.
Zelensky stated via Telegram, “We are working to strengthen partnerships to ensure protection of lives and enhance security in Europe and the Middle East. Joint efforts always yield the best results.” This meeting is seen as a crucial attempt to build regional alliances to end the prolonged conflict.
