Netanyahu Declares Destruction of Irans South Pars Gas Field, a Vital Global Energy Source

Tensions in the Middle East have escalated sharply after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that Israel has attacked and destroyed key infrastructure of Iran's giant South Pars gas field.

In a video statement, Netanyahu said the operation is part of a systematic campaign to destroy the "cash machine" of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, stating that Israel is dismantling factories, networks, and continues targeting high-level individuals.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz revealed that the attack took place at the South Pars petrochemical plant in the city of Asaluyeh, which is Iran's largest petrochemical production center.

He noted the target's critical importance as petrochemicals account for about 50% of the country's output and are considered one of Iran's economic pillars.

Previously, attacks on the South Pars area in March triggered Iranian retaliation targeting oil and gas infrastructure in Gulf Arab countries, raising concerns about global energy stability.

Meanwhile, Israeli military spokesman Nadav Shohani stated simply that Iran will have no immunity amid ongoing negotiations.

At the same time, the United States has not immediately responded to the attack, although reports indicate that Israel and the US jointly launched attacks on Iran on the same day, resulting in over 25 casualties.

Reports indicate that following the attack, Iran retaliated by firing missiles at Israel and neighboring Gulf Arab countries, signaling a conflict likely to expand widely.
