Violent Shooting Erupts Near Israeli Consulate in Istanbul One Gunman Killed, Several Injured

A violent shooting broke out near the Israeli consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, resulting in at least one gunman killed and two others shot by security forces, while two police officers sustained injuries.

The Governor of Istanbul revealed that the incident was a clash between a group of attackers and police officers, involving several minutes of gunfire near the security checkpoint of the building.

Turkey's Interior Minister stated that the attackers were connected to an organization exploiting religion for gain and that suspects had been identified, including two attackers who are brothers.

At the scene, a large police presence was deployed, including armed plainclothes officers and rescue teams to control the situation, while the surrounding area was sealed off for safety.

Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement confirming it is investigating the incident and that no staff were inside the consulate at the time, as the premises have not been in operation for some time.

The shooting occurred amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, especially the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, raising security concerns in several countries. Turkish authorities are currently intensifying investigations into the attackers' motives and networks.
