Israel's Prime Minister stated that the military attacked several Iranian bridges and railways, claiming these routes were used to transport raw materials and weapons for attacks against Israel, the United States, and Middle Eastern countries.
On 7 Apr 2026, Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's Prime Minister, announced that the Israeli military conducted attacks on multiple railways and bridges in Iran on the previous Tuesday, asserting that this infrastructure was used to transport weapons and personnel attacking Israel, the U.S., and other countries in the region.
"Yesterday, our pilots destroyed dozens of transport planes and helicopters at Iranian air bases, and today, they attacked railways and bridges used by the Revolutionary Guard forces," Netanyahu said in a video statement released by the Prime Minister's Office.
"They use these routes to transport materials for weapon production, the weapons themselves, and personnel who attack us, the U.S., and countries in the region. Those personnel are the same group oppressing the Iranian people," Netanyahu added, emphasizing that the attacks "are not aimed at the Iranian population."
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Tuesday that they struck eight bridges in Iran used to transport weapons and military equipment. These bridges are located in various areas, including Tehran, Karaj, Tabriz, Kashan, and Qom. The IDF claimed they took measures to minimize civilian impact.
Additionally, there were reports of attacks on multiple railway lines across Iran on Tuesday. The semi-official Mehr News Agency reported two deaths following an attack on a railway bridge in Kashan. These attacks occurred after the IDF issued warnings advising Iranians to avoid using trains and to stay away from railway tracks nationwide for 12 hours.
