White House Reveals Israel Also Agrees to Two-Week Ceasefire with Iran

White House officials revealed that Israel will join the United States in a two-week ceasefire with Iran after Pakistan requested the U.S. to delay its deadline for attacking Iran.

On 7 Apr 2026 GMT+7, a senior White House official told CNN that Israel has become part of the two-week ceasefire announced earlier by President Donald Trump via Truth Social, following a request from the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Trump stated, “After discussions with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and General Azim Munir of Pakistan, who asked me to suspend the deployment of destructive forces against Iran tonight, and on the condition that the Islamic Republic of Iran agrees to fully, immediately, and safely open the Strait of Hormuz, I have agreed to suspend bombing and attacks on Iran for two weeks. This will be a ceasefire for both sides!”

“The reason for this action is that we have achieved and exceeded all military objectives, and we have made great progress toward a definitive long-term peace agreement with Iran and peace in the Middle East. We have received 10 proposals from Iran and believe they provide a basis for further negotiations. Almost all past conflicts have been resolved between the United States and Iran, but the two-week period will help finalize and complete this agreement.”

This announcement came only an hour and a half before the deadline Trump set for Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz at 20:00 local time on Tuesday, 7 Apr 2026 GMT+7, or about 07:00 Wednesday Thai time, warning that if the deadline passed, the U.S. would launch a devastating attack on Iran’s “civilization.”

White House officials stated that Israel also agreed to suspend its bombing campaign while negotiations continue.
